God’s unfailing words

We continued our series in the book of Exodus and were reminded of the power of God's words and how He is powerfully at work in and through us. We may have been able to relate to Moses' hesitancy to do what God was asking Him to do, "I don't really want to ... I'm sure someone else can do it better than I can ... okay, I will."

Moses knew the power that Pharaoh had, but He knew that the battle was not between him and Pharaoh, but between God and Pharaoh. In this passage, we saw that as Moses performed the miracle of turning his shepherd's staff into a snake and his snake eating the snakes of the magicians, it was a symbol of how one day the Good Shepherd would defeat evil once and for all, by His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave.

We may not feel like we have much to offer, especially when it comes to our words. But the truths in God's words are powerful, and we can build our lives upon the promises of God, enabling us to speak His truth. Just as the tiniest key can open the grandest door, so can the tiniest bit of faith enable God to use outwardly normal situations to do His extraordinary work.
